Permission Profiles: How do I create and assign a permission profile?

Under Core, Select the “Permission Profiles” tab. Here, you would see all the existing permission profiles in the organisation. By default, there would be Super Admin and Member profiles

In this guide, let’s create a new permission profile for the Head of HR in the organisation. begin with clicking on the “Create New Profile” button

Give a name to your permission profile. It’s the title of the group that bears these permissions in your organisation. here, we’ll go with “Head of HR”

Now, select the scope for the permission profile. Scopes define the purview of the profile. It decides who these permissions can be exercised on
Entire Organisation: Gives ability to monitor and take actions affecting all people in the organisation
Direct reports: Gives ability to monitor and take actions affecting only the people directly reporting to the person who has the permission profile
Direct and Indirect reports: Gives ability to monitor and take actions affecting all the people directly reporting to the person as well as the people reporting to all his direct reports.

The people management section has permissions pertaining to inviting, offboarding users and setting up the orgainsation hierarchy (Requires entire organisation scope)

The organisation section has permissions to view and manage the company’s System of Record. Read through the subtexts to know more about every permission in detail and select the ones that apply

The “People” Section allows you to give specific permissions pertaining to Accessing personal data of the people in the scope of the permission profile. Let’s allow our Head of HR to View but not Manage the people data for our case

The next section is Document Management. Here you control the permissions pertaining to managing the company documents and templates (Offer letters, NDAs, IP Agreement etc)

Now, under Payroll management, you can specifically choose if a person can just finalise payroll but not process it (As shown below). You can also customise permissions around Reimbursements, Contractor Payments and Flixi Benefits here

Next is the Leave management section. Here, set up permissions around whether the role would have access to manage leave and holiday policies, Employee leave requests and balances.

In the Attendance Management section, you can configure if the permission profile has access to view/manage the Attendance policies of the organistion as well as data around attendance and timesheets for people under the scope.

Once you’ve finalised the permisions, Click on “Save Changes”

You can also edit the profile as and when you wish by clicking on the “Edit profile” button

Now, to assign this newly created permission profile to the applicable person in the organisation, Head over to the people tab

Select the person you wish to assign the permission profile to from the list

On the top right, click on the edit icon under “Permission Profile” to select a new profile

Select the permission profile that’s applicable and hit “Save Changes”. Now, the permissions configured according to the profile have been assigned to the user!
