The new Leaves App: What has changed in the newest version?
We have made significant updates to Craze's Leave Management system to enhance functionality.
Below, you'll find the key changes and new features introduced in this migration:
Leave Types and Leave Policies : We have introduced a new classification system that differentiates between Leave Types and Leave Policies.
Leave Types now include:
Name : A clear identifier for the type of leave.
Description : A brief description of the leave type.
Classification : Categories of leave types such as Casual Leave , Sick Leave , Earned Leave , Working Away , etc .
Compensation Type : Specifies whether the leave is Paid or Unpaid .
Leave Policies are associated with a Leave Type and have expanded configurations:
Proration : Configurable options for initial balance and accrual proration .
Carry Forward : Configure carry forward percentage, annual resets , and caps for balance carryovers.
Balance Caps : Set limits on leave balances to prevent over-accumulation.
Balance Editing - You can now edit and bulk edit leave balances, making adjustments more efficient.
A Balance Ledger is available, allowing every employee to see a detailed view of the balance history for each leave type assigned to them.
Retroactive Accruals : Initial balance accruals based on an employee's joining date when they are added to Craze are no longer supported .
Leave Encashments : Encashment is now supported only at termination .
Assignee and Cluster Management : We have introduced new capabilities for managing assignees and clusters.
All existing assignees are migrated to the new leave policies as-is
If you need to assign employees based of rules and criteria around
Teams,
Departments,
Work Locations,
Types of Employment,
You can set them up using clusters. You can choose to include a set of employees and exclude a subset from it.
There wouldn’t be any LOP (Loss of Pay) for paid leaves even if balance is negative
Creating a working from home leave policy now involves creating a leave type with working away classification
You can now set up initial balance proration. The concept of default balances is deprecated.
